What is the Difference between the Nardi Rio and the Rio Alu Extendable Dining Table?

What is the Difference between the Nardi Rio and the Rio Alu Extendable Dining Table?

Today we want to talk about the difference between the popular Rio and Rio Alu outdoor dining tables. As a furniture retailer, we often receive questions from customers who are interested in purchasing these tables online but aren’t able to visit our showroom to see them in person. So, we thought we'd take this opportunity to share some insights on the differences between these two popular outdoor dining tables.

First and foremost, it’s important to note that both the Rio and Rio Alu are made by Nardi, a reputable outdoor furniture manufacturer based in Italy. So, when it comes to quality, you can rest assured that both options are top-notch.

The Rio, with its resin finish, is actually the original table that Nardi produced. It features a resin top with an aluminium frame, making it a lightweight yet durable option for outdoor dining. On the other hand, the Rio Alu was introduced as a higher-spec’d model with an aluminium slat top that’s more textured to mimic the look of wood grain. The Rio Alu top has much more metallic sound when tapped compared to the smoother resin top of the Rio.

Now, you may be wondering why there’s such a price difference between the two tables if they’re both made by the same manufacturer. The answer lies in the materials used. Aluminium is generally a more expensive material compared to resin, which explains why the Rio Alu comes with a higher price tag.

That being said, both tables share a similar look and feel. The resin top of the Rio is designed to resemble the slatted style of the Rio Alu and even features a gorgeous grain pattern that runs through the moulding. Additionally, both tables come in matching anthracite colours that complement each other perfectly.

So, when it comes down to it, the main difference between the Rio and Rio Alu outdoor dining tables is purely aesthetic. It really depends on what look you’re going for and how much you’re willing to spend. If you’re on a tight budget, the Rio is a great option that won’t compromise on quality. However, if you’re after a more textured and visually striking option, the Rio Alu is definitely worth considering.
