How to Choose Outdoor Furniture

Before  you spend hard earned money on buying new Outdoor Furniture, you need to consider the type of material you really want before you purchase as Outdoor Furniture can be time consuming to maintain and this needs to be considered before you commit yourself to a purchase.

Whilst most of us buy on look or what we like its sometimes not always practical for our homes or lifestyles so we have elaborated on a few points that you should consider:

1. Is your outdoor furniture going to in direct exposure to the sun and elements?

If it is then you should consider a man made material such as PE wicker or resin as these are mostly UV treated and will be more durable that timber or natural cane products.

2. Is your furniture going to be exposed to direct  natural sunlight?

If your furniture is going to be exposed to the sun on a daily basis, you risk the cushions and fabric fading over time especially if you choose a dark colour such as black, navy or chocolate brown. You will need to consider either storing the cushions when not is use or covering the furniture so that the cover takes the harshness of the sun. Remember - here in Australia we have a stronger UV than most countries so anything you put outside needs to be maintained if you want longevity.

3. Do you have a shady / darker outdoor space that doesnt get a lot of natural light?

If your outdoor space is mostly shaded from the sun then you risk your furniture getting mould and mildew if it is constantly damp. In this case we recommend resin garden furniture such as Nardi which is resistant to mildew and mould and also wont rust, therefore you will find resin very easy to maintain.
